I am Rick. I am a leader. I am a survivor. I am a winner. I will do whatever it takes to win.
I grew up in a household that held the armed forces at a very high standard. My father was a decorated marine. His father was also in the army. My older brother joined the service right out of high school. I didn’t want to join the service honestly. I wanted to do other things with my life.
Thinking back, maybe I wasn’t cut out for the role that I found myself in shortly after graduating high school. Maybe I wasn’t tough like my brother, father and even grandfather.
After serving 4 tours I came back home with a problem. I was diagnosed with PTSD which stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This “disease” as they call it is responsible for on average a suicide every 15 minutes. Veterans suffer from it throughout their lives.
I guess I was tougher than I thought I was because I overcame it. I beat PTSD. Now I want to share the recipe for the win that I had over the “disease” with you. You can beat PTSD.
